For a flexographic printer
If you are a traditional flexographic label printer, the Xeikon CX3 will make it much easier to cope with urgent short run jobs or big job runs of multi variaties. Where these jobs used to have a great impact on the production process, they can now be handled smoothly by the digital press without added costs. It’s the best way to increase your overall profitability.

For a digital printer
The Xeikon CX3 is the perfect addition to your digital printing park. Its unique features, combined with dry toner technology (high degree of lightfastness), will give you the ability to really distinguish your business from competitors. The full rotary technology means label of different dimensions can be printed in one and the same run, at top speed, and without any adjustment to the press.
True 1200 dpi resolution combined with four-bit variable-dot density enables you to print the most vibrant high-definition images, smooth tone transitions, security features and minute details on a wide range of substrates.
Add to that a straightforward implementation process and you have a game changer at hand. The Xeikon CX3’s workflow can easily be integrated into your existing (flexographic) systems. Should you want to upgrade the X-800 at a later stage for improved productivity, then that is no problem either. JDF-based automation and integration helps ensure that more jobs are processed faster with minimal human intervention, which improves accuracy, ensures repeatability, and reduces errors. The X-800 combines prepress, data processing and press operation functionality, enabling you to manage and print complex variable data jobs with unprecedented ease.

Abbey Labels: “Helping us stay one step ahead”
UK based Abbey Labels recently added the Xeikon CX3 to their existing digital press park to help address the continuously increased demand for digital and achieve a 20% year-on-year growth.
As for the choice to invest in the Xeikon CX3, Tom Allum, Chairman of Abbey Labels is clear: “We acknowledged that with our existing digital equipment, we were getting to overcapacity and our lead times were drifting because of the great success of our digital department. We aim to turn jobs around in four days, but it was stretching to a week. The Xeikon CX3 is adding exactly the digital printing capability we need. It will help us to stay one step ahead and keep up to speed with market requirements."
One key attraction for Abbey Labels was the speed of the Xeikon CX3 - 30 meters per minute, which is 56% faster than the current presses. This speed will enable Abbey Labels to create a highly flexible approach to print production, help expand its portfolio and win new business.

The Cheetah toner
Another deciding factor was the ability to print on a variety of heat-sensitive substrates, which is made possible by Xeikon’s unique toner technology, the specifically-designed Xeikon CX3 toner, called Cheetah toner, which requires a much lower fusing temperature than typical toner-based presses. In addition, it meets FDA regulations for food contact and offers the ability to print opaque white toner in one pass.
“The fact that we can run white toner and that the toners are food safe was also a big selling point. Since we work a lot with trade customers, we don’t always know what we are quoting for, and being BRC and ISO14001 accredited, we need the reassurance that however we run it, we can meet those standards. Having Xeikon technology, we are certain.”
