Repacorp (US), founded in 1974, operates three manufacturing facilities across Ohio, Wisconsin and Arizona, all dedicated to label production. At its Arizona site, which focuses on short-run digital label production, existing digital presses couldn’t keep up with customer demands.
The Arizona facility produces stock and custom labels, as well as RFID labels and tags. While Repacorp primarily works with third-party vendors, its sister company, Presto Labels – operating from the Arizona site – focuses exclusively on short-run label production for end business customers. In 2025, at Presto Labels, the team realised a change was needed.
“I couldn’t have both of my presses running at the same time, for at least a week,” says Bo Soto, Plant Manager for the Arizona facility. “One or the other was always giving us problems.”
The team needed a more reliable solution, so they could maintain consistent quality while improving turnaround times. With frequent short-run jobs, stable production and predictable performance become increasingly important. To meet these requirements, the Repacorp team needed a label press capable of delivering high-quality output while completing jobs quickly and efficiently.
Repacorp explored a range of technology providers. It eventually settled on the Xeikon PX3300HD, building on successful experience of using Xeikon Panther technology to.
The Xeikon PX3300HD UV inkjet press offers a print volume of 111,000 linear metres and print quality comparable to screen and flexo. Repacorp identified the platform as a way to increase the efficiency of Presto Labels’ short-run digital label production.
“That was the reason we went to Xeikon – because they specialise in short-run,” says Aaron Dumke, Vice President of Packaging at Repacorp. “Everyone wants that Amazon model and that division is really set up for that. They can get an order out in two or three days.”
By replacing older equipment with the PX3300HD, Repacorp aimed to improve reliability and streamline production.
Since installing the PX3300HD, Repacorp has consolidated production at its Arizona facility. “We’re taking work from two presses and we’re now getting it done on one,” Aaron says. “As someone who’s looking at the profits and losses, that’s the biggest takeaway.”
The operational improvements have been measurable:
Setup time reduced from 45 minutes to 15 minutes.
Short-run print jobs completed in half the time.
90% of output at the Arizona plant now runs on the Xeikon PX3300HD.
50% reduction in the total time spent setting up, maintaining, and running the press.
“It’s been a huge success,” according to Bo Soto, the Arizona facility’s Plant Manager, when speaking of Repacorp’s adoption of the Xeikon PX3300HD. Automation has reduced manual intervention and increased uptime, allowing the team to run the press faster while maintaining consistent print quality.
“We’re able to run the machine faster, but with consistent quality,” Bo says. “So, in terms of profitability, it’s helped us tremendously versus our older model.”
Thanks to consolidation of production onto one press, daily operations at the Arizona facility have been simplified.
Short-run production requires both flexibility and reliability. By consolidating output onto a single high-performance digital press, Repacorp has simplified its workflow and increased production stability.
“I was really impressed with how Xeikon stood behind their equipment. When we were having problems, they got someone there quickly every time,” Aaron says. “They got us this new press quickly and it’s been going really well since.”
Encouraged by these results, Repacorp plans to install a second Xeikon PX3300HD. This will boost business efficiency and secure backup capacity.
“Obviously, we love our Xeikon press,” Bo adds. “We’re 100% happy!”
