The quality of engagement was particularly encouraging. More than 80% of those interested in Xeikon technology and Ecolyne were new contacts for our business, while conversations with existing customers focused increasingly on how they can broaden their applications and create new opportunities from their digital capabilities. Deals were also closed during the event, giving us a positive combination of immediate business and a strong pipeline of new opportunities.
Beyond those results, however, the conversations at LOUPE provided a clear picture of a market that is continuing to change.
Converters are responding to shorter run lengths, increasing numbers of SKUs, greater use of variable data and continued pressure for faster turnaround. Digital production is well suited to those requirements, but the investment conversation is becoming more sophisticated.
Customers are looking closely at total cost of production. They are considering sustainability, print quality and the operational support they will receive after installation. At the same time, expectations continue to rise: 1200 dpi is increasingly becoming the standard, while food safety and the ability to reduce finishing requirements are becoming more important factors in technology decisions.
What this tells us is that the opportunity for digital printing is significant, but technology needs to be aligned closely with the commercial realities of each converter.
We saw that clearly in the response to Ecolyne. The strong interest in an industrial entry-level digital label press points to demand for more accessible ways to enter or expand digital production while managing investment effectively.
At the other end of the conversation, our live demonstration of the Xeikon TX500 with KURZ technology showed how existing digital users are looking beyond their current applications. Customers were exploring what additional capabilities could mean for the future development of their businesses.
These may represent different stages of digital adoption, but the underlying requirement is similar: converters want technology that makes sense for their applications, production environment and business objectives.
That is an important point for Flint Group Digital Xeikon. We do not believe there is one digital technology that provides the answer for every converter. With dry toner and UV inkjet solutions across multiple press platforms, we can look first at what a customer is trying to achieve and then determine which technology is best suited to that requirement.
LOUPE Americas reinforced our view that the next phase of growth in digital labels will not simply be about adopting digital technology. It will be about making the right digital investment for the right applications.
For Flint Group Digital Xeikon, that creates a clear opportunity: to help converters navigate those choices and build a digital production strategy that supports both their current requirements and their future ambitions.
